The Inspiration Behind MIMCHIK:
What inspired you to create MIMCHIK?
I’ve always had a deep love for fashion and the culture surrounding it. Clothing holds so much power—it can change the way you feel in your body and enhance your sense of self. I wanted to create a brand that blends timeless elegance with unique statement pieces, empowering anyone who wears them to feel confident, sexy, and powerful.
How did your background influence your approach to launching a fashion brand?
Growing up in a family deeply rooted in fashion and entrepreneurship, I was immersed in the industry from a young age. My father encouraged me to explore fashion’s endless possibilities, and from the age of seven, we traveled the world together, visiting vintage stores and studying unique pieces. These experiences sharpened my eye for detail and instilled in me a deep appreciation for quality—something that remains a guiding principle in everything I do.
Fashion & Style
Who are your biggest style influences or muses?
Jane Birkin has always been one of my ultimate style muses—she's effortlessly cool. And of course, my mom. Her sense of style is so authentic to her, and she wears everything with such ease, always looking incredibly chic.
Who is the MIMCHIK woman—what kind of person do you design for?
The MIMCHIK woman is confident and powerful while also feeling comfortable and at ease. She doesn’t need to shout to command attention—her presence speaks for itself. Her style is chic, effortless, and unique, making people immediately wonder, Where did she get that? I design for women who are forging their own paths in life and want to feel both empowered and authentic.
What are your go-to wardrobe essentials that every woman should own?
A great pair of trousers and a leather jacket. I personally wear my MIMCHIK Twist Pants and Tall Boy Leather Jacket almost every day—it’s become my uniform because of how effortlessly cool it makes me feel. I think everyone wants to feel that way when they leave the house.
If you could dress any celebrity in MIMCHIK, who would it be and why?
Rosalía or Zendaya. They are such risk-takers in fashion and have this incredibly magnetic presence. I’d love to see Mimchik come to life on them.
How does living in Los Angeles influence your designs and creative process?
LA is home—it’s where I grew up and discovered who I am. My core memories are here, and my heart is here. People have a complicated relationship with LA, but there’s so much beauty in it. The peace it brings me fuels my creativity. I’m constantly surrounded by the people I love while also exploring the city’s evolving style and energy. And of course, being immersed in Hollywood is always inspiring.
What’s one fashion trend you’re loving right now—and one you think is overrated?
I love the trend of buying vintage—giving clothes a second life is so important. An overrated trend? Bag charms—they were cute at first, but now that they’re everywhere, they don’t feel as special anymore.
MIMCHIK & The Future
Where can people shop MIMCHIK, and what can we expect from upcoming collections?
Mimchik is available on MIMCHIK.com and FWRD. Our upcoming collections will feature lots of leather, signature core pieces, fun tailoring, and new denim—it’s all very exciting!
If you could collaborate with any brand or designer, who would it be and why?
Jonathan Anderson. He’s one of the greats of our time. I admire his quirkiness, attention to detail, and how he incorporates color theory into each collection. It would be a dream to work with him.
What are your favorite spots in LA for fashion inspiration—whether it's a boutique, café, or hidden gem?
I love Scout for vintage shopping. Another favorite is Wild West Social House, a members-only vintage store and rental space with some of the most beautiful designer pieces I’ve ever seen. And for something unexpected—Lolo Wine Bar’s chocolate tart inspires me every time I take a bite!
If you could design a dream closet for your perfect LA home, what would it look like?
I actually already have my dream closet! It’s made of rich Douglas Fir wood, filled with clothes and books—my two favorite things. It also has a vanity with custom bench seating, upholstered in a beautiful vintage fabric my boyfriend found. It’s perfect.
What’s one piece of advice you live by, whether in fashion, business, or life?
Trust your gut. The moment you let too many people weigh in on your creativity, you lose sight of your vision.
