Favorite Local Bar?
So many great spots in so many neighborhoods. El Carmen — a little place I’ve been going to for years with great drinks, awesome nachos, and I can walk there. The Sunset Marquis bar — pure rock ’n’ roll and another nostalgic favorite. And of course, one of my all-time favorites, the holy grail: Jones in Hollywood — dark, loud, rock ’n’ roll always playing, and always a good crowd.
Who are your favorite LA beauty gurus, stylists, or wellness practitioners?
My facialist, Marion at Skin Sense on Third Street — she’s pure magic and has been keeping my skin glowing for years. I trust no one else with my face. My hairstylist, Sarah English at Salon Republic — she’s a total pro with cuts, color, and hand-tied extensions. And Cheyenne at Sports Rehab LA is my secret weapon — she keeps my body from breaking down and ready to handle whatever I throw at it.
Besides Pilates, what’s your favorite way to move your body in LA?
Urban walks are my thing — anywhere and everywhere with a great playlist or podcast in my ears.
What is the one thing a beginner should know about your class?
It’s athletic, it’s precise, and you will absolutely find muscles you didn’t know existed — all set to a killer playlist.
What’s one common misconception about Pilates you wish people understood better?
That it’s just stretching. It’s strength, control, and serious body awareness.
If someone were visiting LA for the first time, what’s one neighborhood you’d send them to explore?
LA for the first time? That’s tough — there are so many great neighborhoods, it’s impossible to pick just one. Silver Lake for coffee and boutique hopping, Venice for beachy energy and boardwalk people-watching, and West Hollywood for rooftop cocktails and a little scene.
Any hidden gems—shops, coffee spots, or markets—you love that not everyone knows about?
Melrose Trading Post on Sundays for vintage finds, the Original Farmers Market on Fairfax — I’ve been going since I was a little girl and still love wandering the stalls with a drink in hand, snacking, and people-watching — Smorgasburg LA for the ultimate Sunday food crawl, Abbot Kinney in Venice for indie shops, that artsy beach vibe, and great restaurants, and Malibu Seafood — best seafood shack, grab a picnic table, bring a bottle of wine, and watch the waves.
What’s one thing about living in LA that still feels magical to you?
That in just a couple of hours you can be in Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, San Diego, or Big Bear — the weekend getaway options are endless.
